Leaderboard Oct 30th

Every week or so the mods on Moola will update the Leader Board with it's members stats. I will do my best to post it here so people can see. I broke down the leader board to show more detailed information about who are the top 5 money gainers/losers as well as the top 5 position gainers/losers.

Let me remind you, not everyones information is posted (some people opt-out) and that some of the decreases in the balance is due to cashing out:

Ghost Stories

Since it is a day before Halloween, it is only right that I share with you a few of my ghost stories.

Jakarta, Indonesia
Most of my stories will be from Jakarta (where I lived for 7 years of my life). Before I go on with my story, you should know that ghosts/spirits in Jakarta is very prevalent. I do not know the exact reason for this, but it could be the fact that there are many witch doctors who use black magic or the fact that almost everywhere you go at one point was a cemetery (since the dead was buried in the back yard in the olden days). Anyways on with the stories...

My experience:
My first experience was when I was about 6th grade. I was at home at my desk doing my homework. My desk faces the wall and right behind me were the stairs that led up to the second floor. As i was doing my homework I suddenly felt a chill that went down my back, I also got the feeling that there was someone behind me. When I turned around, I saw a pair of feet towards the top of the staircase just right before it went out of view. Thinking that it may have been one of my maids, I ran into the kitchen to see who it might have been. To my surprise all of them were there. Two of my maids volunteered to check upstairs and when they came back down, they informed me that no one was up there.

When Push Comes To Shove:
The second incident was experienced by one of my maids at my house. She was upstairs cleaning the bathroom. As she was on her hands and knees cleaning the bathroom floor, she was pushed from behind. When she turned around, she saw a little kid, all dressed in white running away from her towards the stairs. She decided to chase the kid thinking that it was my little brother. When she got to the bottom of the stairs she went into the kitchen and asked my other maids where my little bro ran off to. To her surprise she was told that my brother was not home due to after school activities and no one has gone down those stairs since she went up.

Possessed:
The last story that occurred at my old house that I can remember was when one of my maids was possessed (before this incident, I have heard about many of these instances, but never seen one for myself). My maid was pretty old (in her 60's) and she was taking a nap in her room. All of a sudden, she was yelling out of the top of her lungs. When we went into the room, her face was all wrinkled and she was talking in a deep mans voice. She had her arms crossed and she had her nails digging into her skin as she was pulling downwards. Everything she said was just gibberish. My maids took me away and went to call a witch doctor. When the witch doctor came, he blessed some water and sprayed a little on my possessed maid. Right away, my maid fell back down on the bed and when she woke up she told me that she saw her self from a 3rd person point of view and had no control over herself.

The Factory Bathroom:
This story was told to me by one of my mothers employees. My mom works for a large retail store over in Indonesia. One night, construction workers were inside the store doing renovations. One of the workers needed to use the bathroom. Since this is a retail store he had to be escorted to the bathroom by security. As he was using the urinal, he felt a pebble hit him on the back. He turned his head and found no one there. He decided that he was just imagining it. When he came out of the bathroom, to the security guards surprise, his face was all white. When he was asked what had happened, the construction worker explained that just as he was about to be done, he felt a finger flick his private part.

U.S.A.
Study Group:
This one was told to me by a close friend of mine in the states. According to her, she use to live in an apartment haunted by ghosts. She lived there while she was studying law. One late night a day before her final exams, she was studying in the kitchen. As she was studying from the top of her eyes she saw shadows moving in front of her as well as her fridge door opening and then closing. Being the person that she is, she decided to ignore it and continue studying. She said the scariest part of that night was when she felt someones breathing over the top of her left shoulder. That was the one and only night she experienced it. Lucky for her, she moved out after her exams.

This post is getting long, although I have quite a few more, this is all I will share with everyone today. Happy Halloween everyone.

Guide: Bots

I have recently realized that my posts are pretty long, so for these guides, I will just post a few bullet points at the top and if you are interested in reading more, go ahead.

The Things You Should Know About Bots:

  1. They are around as place fillers
  2. They are programmed to win and lose an even amount of games
  3. They only play up to level 9
  4. You always have the option not to play the bots
  5. Bots are always anonymous

The bots were created with the purpose of giving members an opponent when their aren't many people playing. At one point the Admins decided to take away this feature, but due to popular demand, they brought it back.

Because the bots are only meant to be place fillers, they are programmed to "recycle" their cash balance. How they are programmed to win games is up for debate, it might just be that the bots will play smarter or as some people have said, it could be that they can change the cards in Hi/Lo or see what you are throwing in Gold Rush and Ro-Sham-Bo. Only the programmers know.

Playing a bot is not always necessary, some people like playing them, while others despise bots. There is no way to tell if an opponent is a bot before a game starts, but after a game starts, there are some signs that it is a bot based off their strategies. If you do not want to play bots, all you have to do is uncheck the "Auto Players" box and you will not be matched up against a bot.

I personally don't care if I am playing a bot or not. You will have to decide on your own if you would like to play them. Remember though, anonymous players are not necessary bots, they could also be a real members playing anonymously. On the other hand bots will always play as anonymous.

The information above is what I have read on the forums and text provided by Moola. I cannot guarantee you that you will never play a bot if you uncheck Auto Players or if a non-anonymous opponent that you are playing is actually a bot. Only the person who created Moola can know for sure.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions.

Guide: Search & Win

Round and round it goes, where it stops... Nobody knows!

The First thing you should know about the wheel is that before you even press the button to spin it, the system already knows what the results will be and has already added that spin to your account. In fact, you do not even need to press the spin button to receive the bonus. So in other words, the out come is predetermined. So for those of you who experience the wheel disappearing before you get a chance to spin it, don't worry, your money is safely tucked in your account.

The wheel (a.k.a. Wendy) is a little added bonus for the members (not to mention another way for Moola.com to make money). Some people base their earnings in Moola off just spinning the wheels and not playing any of the games. It is a slow process but you will gain money with each spin. There is also the chance of you hitting the $9000 mark.

Don't confuse the Search & Win wheel and the "Poor man's wheel". The difference is that the search & win wheel is reached via the search function and it also has higher possible results. The "Poor man's wheel" shows up randomly after you lose all your money and request a new penny.

Why spin the wheel?

  • It's free money
  • The money can be used to build your balance so that you can play higher level games
  • It's easy to spin daily
  • There is no risk
  • Did I mention that it is free money

How do you get the wheel? From what I know, it is pretty random. You are supposed to have up to 4 chances to spin the wheel during a 24 hour period, but recently a few members have been spinning the wheel more then 4 times a day.

As long as you search for something legit (not gibberish) and space out the time between spin, then you should be able to get the wheel. From the posts in the forums and from my own experience, the closest times between each spin is about 20min. My suggestion is to do a search every few hours. There are no specific words that will bring up the wheel even though some would like to believe so.

To my knowledge, the highest amount won from the wheel as of this posting is $100. But the Admins have been stating that the $9000 should be hit by someone in the near future (the coming year). Basically I suggest that if you do not plan on playing the games, you can just spin the wheel every now and then and hope that you are one of the lucky ones.

Can't Gain Any Ground

It has been quite a slow day for me on Moola today. I can't seem to gain any ground. Whoever I am playing in Gold Rush seems to be able to predict my moves very well. It gets very frustrating, but as I have mentioned before. Take a step back and try again later (which I am doing now). I hope everyone else is having better luck!

Let me share a few pictures of my baby with everyone. His name is Bailey and he is currently 2 years old. Loves watching TV, playing with tennis balls, and long walks on the beach. Here are the first few pictures I have of him, I will share more after I have a chance to upload them.

Progress Report: September

August was definitely a better month for me compared to September. But I did learn a lot from this month.

I had hit the 30 dollar mark and had decided to play with some more risk. That was a bad decision on my part. September showered me with high level losses and low level wins. There were times where my losses would keep coming one right after the other and believe you me... it really gets fustrating when you can't win a game.

Mid way through the month, my account balance dropped to nearly nothing. This was because with the pressure from my girlfriend and my frustration from the losing, I decided to bet more then half of my bank in one game to recuperate my losses. Obviously I lost that game. Thinking "what a waste of time" I decided to keep playing high level games... To the point I was back down to $1.

At this point, I decided to stop playing as many Hi/Lo games and concentrate more on a game filled with more skill... Gold Rush. As you can see, towards the end of the month, my bank began to scale upwards again.

September Consisted Of:
189 Games of Hi/Lo (80 Wins, 24 Tied, 85 Losses)
305 Games of Gold Rush (153 Wins, 15 Tied, 137 Losses)
61 Search & Win Spins

Through the game statistics, it would seem like I was close to a 50/50 split between wins and losses, but the problem was that I was losing the games with higher stakes, and winning the ones with low stakes.

It took me a little while to learn strategies and how opponents play in Gold Rush. The chart above does show that I couldn't seem to win to many games over level 7. But that has now changed.

Lessons Learned:
1. If you are on a losing streak, stop playing for a little while
2. Do not digress from your strategy if it has been working (even if you feel the pressure to play a higher level game)
3. It is better to play a game of skill compared to a game of luck

Guide: Verification

I think that one of the first steps as a new member of Moola is to verify your account. Let me explain:

Moola.com has implemented a verification system which is used to ensure that you are human and not a computer script trying to abuse the system.

The comparison chart above is provided by Moola.com. I will do my best to explain each privilege.

Can Play Games: As easy as it comes, both verified and non-verified members can play the games provided by Moola.com.

Can Receive boosters: Moola.com has a number of ways to earn extra money called boosters. These boosters include Search & Win and Shopping Boosters.

As a unverified member you can still earn these boosters, but only up to $8. Anything you earn that will push you over $8 will be denied. This means that if you are spinning the search & win wheel and happen to land on the $100 mark (which has been done), you wont get any of that. Why risk missing out on $100 or even worse $9000. More about boosters in a different post. As a verified member you get everything you make in the boosters.

Can Cash out: The way you actually get your money in Moola is to cash out.

As an unverified member, Moola will allow you to cash out once, but only for $10. On the other hand, as a verified member Moola will allow you to cash out as much of your account as you want as long as the check is for $10 or more. You are also allowed to cash out twice for free and $2.50 for each additional check after that within every 30 day period.

Can Receive referral bonuses: One reason you will see people sharing invites with people they think will play Moola is because the referrer will earn money based on how well the referral does on the site.

It may not be as important when you first start the game, but as you invite more players who are actually playing the game, the referral bonuses can add up. As an unverified member, anything you get from these bonuses will be held back until you verify your account.

Can Use Private Match (Game Feature): One feature available on the site is the ability for you to create private matches vs friends. This is most popularly used during forum tournaments and specific challenges.

Can Use Stealth Mode (Game Feature): As you continue playing on the site, you will see many challengers show up as anonymous. These anonymous players are either bots or verified members.

Why might someone want to be anonymous? That's because some games like Gold Rush does have strategy involved and remaining anonymous will prevent opponents from learning your strategies.

Now that you know why you should verify your account, lets talk about how.

There are currently two ways for you to verify your account.
1. The most popular way is to verify it via an SMS. Once you verify your account with that number, you will no longer be able to verify another account with that same number. It is a simple process and don't worry, you will only receive one SMS from Moola.com (unless you request them to send it again). There is no SMS spam.

2. The newest way to verify your account is to spend at least $20 in one booster zone shops (snapfish.com is a popular shop for this). Once you have made your purchase, you will need to write in to FEEDBACK (Subj: Goodwill Verification) as soon as you have made your purchase. You can find out more in this post.

Thats it, post any questions you may have here or on the forums.

FAQ: Who is Steve, Bob, Wendy & Phil?

If you are browsing the forums and you hear a mention of Steve, Bob, Wendy or Phil. Don't worry if you are confused. They are not actual people, the odd community that is the Moola forums has decided to give names to different aspects of Moola (These are not official names, it just caught on).

Steve - a.k.a. Random Number Generator {RNG}. This is the part of the system that generates that next card that shows up in Hi/Lo games.

Bob - a.k.a. Bot. These are computer opponents that are in the system to make sure that people have someone to play when there aren't that many people playing.

Wendy - Wendy is the wonderful Search and Spin wheel.

Phil - a.k.a. Poor Mans Wheel. When you lose all your money and are about to get the next free penny, sometimes you get an extra boost via a wheel spin. That wheel is Phil.

Now that you are up to date with the names, go out there and use them!

Progress Report: August

I am a freak when it comes to keeping numbers so don't judge me if I go a little overboard.

I started playing Moola at the end of June so the chart below shows my progress from when I started till the end of August.

As you can see, I did pretty well for myself during the month of August. I ended the month with $27.33. There was no real strategy that I was following. I was playing Hi/Lo 99% of the time during this month. As you can see, with Moola.com, as your account balance increases, so does the rate in which you can increase/decrease that balance.

The problem with Hi/Lo is that it is mostly based on chance, there is very little skill/strategy involved. There were a few days where I just kept having problems getting any wins. My tip to you is that when you start a losing streak, leave it be. Go away for a little while and come back and try again. A little while may = the rest of the day.

August Consisted Of:
548 Games Of Hi/Lo (256 won, 75 tied and 217 lost)
25 Games Of Gold Rush (11 won, 1 tied, 13 lost)
1 Game of Ro-Sham-Bo (1 tied)

I should also mention that I purposely lost level 1 games thinking that if my win percentage is way higher then my loss percentage, Moola gives me harder games of Hi/Lo. Trust me, this is not true. Moola does not rig games based off win percentage. I am not saying they rig it at all, but if they did, it is not based of percentage. =D

Lessons Learned:
1. Ro-Sham-Bo is not any fun and requires not skill
2. Moola is not rigged towards your win/tie/loss percentage

The First Post

I guess in the first post I should introduce myself. On Moola.com I am known as Likuid. But my real name is Michael... or Mike if you prefer. I accidentally found Moola.com while browsing InviteShare.com two and a half months ago and ever since then I have been playing Moola.com whenever I found time.

I have yet to cash out, even though I have enough to do so. I would like to build up my balance so that when I do cash out, I will be able to leave enough for me to build it up again.

The basis for creating this site is so that I can share my knowledge of Moola.com as well as share my progress. Over the last few months that I have been on Moola, I have learned a lot and I am hoping that I will be able to share my knowledge with whoever that might be interested.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.
